Federal Reserve releases 2025 Survey of Consumer Finances results

The Fed also published a companion report on how U.S. family finances changed from 2022 to 2025, plus an interactive chartbook.

The Federal Reserve Board released the results of the 2025 Survey of Consumer Finances, a triennial dataset that offers a representative view of what Americans own, how they borrow, and how they bank.

The survey has been conducted every three years since 1989, and the Fed said the latest release includes an extensive time series of information on the economic condition of American families.

Alongside the survey results, the Fed issued a summary report titled Changes in U.S. Family Finances from 2022 to 2025, examining changes in income, net worth, assets, debt, and financial vulnerability.

The central bank also released an interactive chartbook showing changes that supplement the summary report, with materials provided for review following the Friday release.
