Swiss Re Institute says life insurers need more distributor partnerships
The sigma report links growing life insurance demand to a generational shift in pension systems that moves retirement and later-life care responsibilities toward individuals.
Swiss Re Institute, in a new sigma report, urged life insurers to partner more closely with banks, advisers, and other distributors as demand for life insurance and retirement-related solutions rises.
The report points to a generational shift in several pension systems that transfers responsibility for retirement income, inheritance planning, and later-life care from institutions to individuals, creating earlier decision points for consumers.
Swiss Re Institute said the shift increases the value of trusted advice and is changing how consumers buy life insurance, while also intensifying competition across the industry.
In its view, expanded access to insurance protection and retirement solutions can strengthen households’ long-term financial resilience, according to the sigma report.
