Ledger warns buyers not to set up devices bought from a reseller

Ledger said it is investigating after some South East Asia customers reported their Ledger devices were drained, and it told buyers from CryptoBilis within 90 days to not set them up.

Ledger is investigating reports that some customers in South East Asia had funds taken after buying Ledger hardware wallet devices from a reseller, according to Bitcoin Magazine.

Ledger advised customers who purchased from vendor CryptoBilis within the last 90 days not to set up their devices, while the situation remains ongoing and users are urged to review Ledger’s official updates.

The report says Ledger did not disclose how much money was lost, but blockchain investigator Specter wrote on X that he traced theft addresses after social media posts and that over $86 million had been taken.
