Apple launches HomeView smart home hub with upgraded Siri AI
The HomeView starts at $299 and is set to begin shipping next month, with preorders starting today.
Apple on Tuesday unveiled a new smart home device, the HomeView, an iPad-like hub designed to hang on walls or sit on tabletops and control other smart home gadgets. The device is built to help users manage doorbells, thermostats, and smart locks, and it will showcase Apple’s AI-upgraded Siri virtual assistant, according to The Guardian Business.
The HomeView starts at $299 and will feature a 7-inch screen plus face recognition. Apple said preorders begin today and the devices are expected to be available starting 13 November.
Apple is rolling out additional smart home products alongside the HomeView as it seeks renewed traction in a market where it has been developing smart home technology for years, The Guardian Business noted.
