Bitcoin slides to about $82,423 as October strength stalls

Bitcoin fell 2% over the past 24 hours to trade just above $82,423, while its first stretch of October is down 3% on the week, according to CoinGlass data cited by Bitcoin Magazine.

Bitcoin slid further on Monday, dropping about 2% over 24 hours to trade at a little over $82,423, Bitcoin Magazine reported.

Over the past week, the outlet said bitcoin is down 3% and is also lower so far this month. October is typically a strong month for bitcoin, and CoinGlass data cited by Bitcoin Magazine shows it finished eight of the last 10 Octobers in the green.

Last year was an exception, the outlet said, when bitcoin’s price reached an all-time high of $126,080 and then entered a bear market after October 10.

Bitcoin Magazine attributed the post-October 10 weakness to a broader market selloff tied to U.S. President Donald Trump tariff threats, saying crypto long positions were wiped out and more than $19 billion in digital asset bets were liquidated.
