China researchers propose underwater tank equipment that can operate 2 hours
The research team said prototypes and field tests supported the designs and that they have moved toward combat-oriented validation.
A Chinese research team has proposed four types of equipment aimed at rapidly switching between wartime environments, including operating deep underwater for long periods, as multi-domain combat develops over the coming decades, according to SCMP Economy.
The “heterogeneous” designs are intended to outperform conventional armoured vehicles by reconfiguring physical modules and functions within seconds to support missions across land, water, air and electromagnetic contest grounds, the outlet reported.
SCMP Economy added that the researchers said the designs have advanced toward engineering application and “combat-oriented validation” after prototypes and field tests proved feasibility.
