Taiwan’s finance minister to attend Apec finance meeting in Hong Kong
Hong Kong will host the Apec Finance Ministers’ Meeting on October 20 and 21, while the Economic Leaders’ Summit is set for Shenzhen next month, Reuters reported.
Taiwan’s finance minister, Chuang Tsui-yun, plans to attend the Apec meeting in Hong Kong, where China’s finance chief is scheduled to deliver the opening speech, according to Reuters as carried by SCMP Economy.
Chuang’s ministry said she will attend the event “as is customary,” Reuters reported.
Hong Kong is hosting the Apec Finance Ministers’ Meeting on October 20 and 21, and the Economic Leaders’ Summit will be held in Shenzhen next month, with China as the summit host for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum this year.
The Financial and Treasury Services Bureau, which is organizing the meeting, said China’s Ministry of Finance is handling registration and accreditation, SCMP Economy reported, citing responses to queries.
