Europe’s natural gas benchmark set for multi-year highs

Dutch TTF futures were around 83 euros per megawatt-hour, and Europe is entering winter with storage far below 15-year lows.

Europe’s main natural gas price benchmark is headed for multi-year highs despite a reported Russia-Ukraine “energy ceasefire” over the weekend, according to OilPrice.

The outlet also pointed to improving energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz as supporting conditions, but said Europe is still facing tight supply.

OilPrice noted Europe is heading into the Northern Hemisphere winter without Qatari LNG exports and with natural gas storage well below 15-year lows.

Dutch TTF futures were trading around 83 euros per megawatt-hour, OilPrice reported.
