Ledger says hidden LTE implant stole recovery phrases

Ledger said the chip captured the 24-word recovery phrase during device setup, while leaving its Secure Element and software untouched.

Ledger says it found an LTE implant that captured users recovery phrases during setup in what the company described as a suspected $86 million drain, according to Decrypt.

In its account, the hidden chip read the 24-word phrase off the screen as the device was being configured.

Ledger said the incident did not alter its Secure Element or its software, it left those components untouched, Decrypt reported.
