Moscow Exchange begins bitcoin trading tests ahead of December launch
The exchange plans to let clients trade cryptocurrencies starting in December after beginning testing with professional market participants, Interfax reported.
Moscow Exchange has begun testing cryptocurrency trading with professional market participants ahead of a planned December start for client bitcoin trading, according to Bitcoin Magazine citing an Interfax report.
The exchange, described as Russia’s biggest, said it is actively testing and began operations about a week earlier, with senior managing director for sales and business development Boris Blokhin commenting on the rollout.
Moscow Exchange plans to connect with a partner settlement digital depository for account opening by market participants, and it said the launch would not require additional permits or licenses.
The plan follows Russia’s law on digital currencies and digital rights, which took effect in September, setting the framework for trading cryptocurrencies.
