Yields rise as the curve leans higher
Treasury yields move up across maturities while bond proxies are mixed to weaker.
Treasuries finish under pressure. The 5-Yr Treasury yield rises 0.63% to 4.282, the 10-Yr Treasury yield adds 0.53% to 4.569, and the 30-Yr Treasury yield gains 0.3% to 5.098.
The rate move comes alongside a mixed bond-proxy tape. LQD slips 0.07%, MUB falls 0.13%, and TLT is nearly unchanged, down 0.04%. HYG edges down 0.01%.
The backdrop stays rate-sensitive. The Dollar index rises 0.2% to 100.708, and VIX also moves higher, reinforcing the day’s more defensive tone. CNBC’s coverage of Dallas Fed President Logan calling for 'modestly' higher interest rates adds to the policy focus.
Within fixed income, the longer end still looks stretched. The 30-Yr Treasury’s RSI14 sits at 89.7, while the 10-Yr is at 71.2 and the 5-Yr at 61.4.
