Fund proxies track the risk-off tone
U.S. stock funds ease, while the long-bond fund stays weak and Wellington edges higher.
The fund complex reflects the same split seen in the broader tape. VFIAX and FXAIX both rise 0.4%, VTSAX gains 0.4%, and VWELX adds 0.4%, while VBTLX rises 0.1%.
On the ETF side, SPY falls 0.5%, QQQ drops 1.6%, VTI declines 0.5%, and EFA falls 0.8%. IWM is nearly flat, down 0.1%, showing how much of the weakness is concentrated in large-cap growth.
Bond exposure remains soft. TLT slips 0.04%, and the bond market backdrop matches today’s higher Treasury yields. GLD drops 2.0%, underscoring pressure in precious metals exposure too.
The mutual fund and ETF moves are consistent with a market that is still above key longer-term averages, but drifting defensively on the day.
