BNB Chain targets early 2027 mainnet for AI and high-frequency trading

The project plans a public testnet by end-2026 and aims for under-50-millisecond transaction preconfirmations with throughput above 100,000 TPS.

CoinDesk reports that BNB Chain is developing a new layer-1 blockchain focused on high-frequency trading and autonomous AI agents, with a public testnet targeted for the end of 2026 and a mainnet launch planned for early 2027.

The network is designed to run alongside the existing BNB Chain ecosystem rather than replace it, and it aims to process more than 100,000 transactions per second by streaming transactions directly to the block leader to eliminate public queues.

BNB Chain says the approach targets sub-second block finality and transaction preconfirmations under 50 milliseconds, while removing the public mempool to reduce latency and prevent front-running by avoiding visibility into pending trades.

CoinDesk also notes that BNB Smart Chain performance has already improved, with block times falling to 450 milliseconds in the first half of 2026 from 750 milliseconds, and benchmark throughput rising to about 5,200 TPS from roughly 2,800 TPS.
