Dow falls as oil prices surge on renewed fighting with Iran
Global oil prices logged their steepest rise since May as investors reacted to renewed Iran-related conflict.
Wall Street’s decline followed a sharp jump in global oil prices amid renewed fighting involving Iran, the Wall Street Journal Markets reported. The outlet said the Dow fell as oil posted its steepest climb since May.
According to the NYT Business, investors had been encouraged by a fragile US-Iran cease-fire, but the renewed conflict raised questions about whether that peace can hold.
