Permian natural gas output rises faster than crude oil
EIA data show marketed natural gas in the Permian increases 60% from 2021 to 2025, while crude oil rises 39%.
The EIA reports that the Permian region’s marketed natural gas production climbed to 27.6 billion cubic feet per day in 2025, up from 17.2 Bcf/d in 2021.
Over the same period, Permian crude oil production rose from 4.7 million barrels per day to 6.6 million b/d, according to the EIA’s latest Short Term Energy Outlook.
