Everest appoints Craig Hanrahan as global distribution and commercial officer
The executive role takes effect August 1, 2026, with Hanrahan leading Everest's global distribution strategy and key commercial relationships across re and insurance businesses.
Everest Group has named Craig Hanrahan as its Global Distribution & Chief Commercial Officer, effective August 1, 2026. Reinsurance News reports the appointment will put Hanrahan in charge of Everest’s global distribution strategy and key commercial relationships across its re and insurance businesses.
In the new position, Hanrahan will work with business leaders to advance Everest’s focus on service, underwriting expertise, and long term value for clients and brokers worldwide. He is expected to continue reporting directly to Jim Williamson, Everest’s president and chief executive officer, and serve on the company’s Executive Leadership Team.
Hanrahan joined Everest in 2024 and previously led multiple U.S. roles, including Northeast Regional Executive Officer and Head of North America Field Operations. According to Reinsurance News, he also served as Head of U.S. Retail Insurance, overseeing the company’s U.S. retail insurance portfolio spanning Commercial Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, and Industry Practice solutions.
Before joining Everest, Hanrahan spent 14 years at Chubb and held roles at Marsh and AIG earlier in his career. Williamson said in connection with the appointment that Hanrahan is a respected leader with deep market relationships and a track record of delivering results as Everest strengthens its global distribution capabilities.
