Fed bank regulators publish 2026 list of CRA-eligible geographies
The 2026 designations are tied to local labor and poverty trends, and CRA-eligible revitalization or stabilization activities can qualify for 12 months after publication.
Federal bank regulatory agencies released the 2026 list of certain geographies where bank activities are eligible for Community Reinvestment Act credit, according to a Federal Reserve release.
The list covers distressed or underserved nonmetropolitan middle-income areas, where revitalization or stabilization activities may receive CRA consideration under the community development definition.
Agencies said the designations reflect local economic conditions, including unemployment, poverty, and population changes, and they also apply a one-year lag for geographies that were included in 2025 but are no longer designated as distressed or underserved in the current list.
Revitalization or stabilization activities in the newly listed geographies are eligible to receive CRA consideration for 12 months after publication of the 2026 list.
