SABIL unloads first wheat shipment at Port of NEOM

The first vessel discharged 66,000 tonnes of wheat, aimed at speeding deliveries to SABIL’s northern branches including Tabuk and Hail.

World Grain reports that Saudi National Grain Supply Company, SABIL, working with NEOM, has completed the discharge of its first wheat vessel at Port of NEOM on the Red Sea.

The shipment carried 66,000 tonnes of wheat, and SABIL said the milestone is part of a strategy to diversify logistics gateways and improve supply chain efficiency.

Using the Port of NEOM, SABIL expects to accelerate deliveries to its northern branches, including Tabuk, Al Jouf, Hail and Al Qassim, which it said should improve distribution and service.

SABIL, a SALIC Group subsidiary wholly owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, said the initiative supports more resilient grain supply chains and aligns with the Kingdom’s food security objectives.
