SeyRe Global names Vanida Pillay as its new CEO
Pillay’s appointment follows her prior role as Regional Director for East, Central and Lusophone markets at SeyRe Global.
Seychelles Reinsurance Global Limited, a Barbados-domiciled Class 2 re/insurer, has promoted Vanida Pillay to chief executive officer, according to Reinsurance News. The reinsurer said Pillay succeeds into the role after most recently serving as Regional Director for East, Central and Lusophone markets at SeyRe Global.
Reinsurance News also highlights that Pillay brings more than three decades of experience spanning underwriting, business development, claims management, reinsurance broking, and construction and engineering insurance. Her background includes nearly two years as CEO of MNK RE South Africa, part of MNK Re Limited.
Before that, Pillay spent more than a decade at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty as a Senior Engineering Underwriter. Earlier in her career, she worked at Aon Risk Services SA as a Strategic Account Executive at Eskom Holdings in 2008.
SeyRe Global commented on the move, wishing Pillay success in leading the company and pointing to her long international track record across the industry. The company said her experience is expected to reflect the firm’s focus on vision, integrity, and innovation.
