EU finds Meta in breach of digital laws tied to addictive designs
Meta is facing an EU enforcement action after the European Union concluded it breached European digital laws through features designed to be addictive on Instagram and Facebook.
According to a preliminary report reviewed by CNBC Markets, the EU made the finding based on how the platforms are designed and used, linking those design choices to the regulator's digital compliance assessment.
CNBC World also highlighted that the EU conclusion was issued in the form of a preliminary report, indicating the process is not yet final.
