Hong Kong to host Middle East LEAP East exhibition for three years

The Tourism Board said the event drew more than 25,000 visitors over three days during its Hong Kong debut.

Hong Kong will serve as the exclusive Asian host for the Middle East’s flagship LEAP East exhibition for the next three years, the city’s Tourism Board said. The Asian debut of the expo wrapped up on Friday after three days of programming.

The Tourism Board said the event attracted more than 25,000 visitors during its run, citing it as part of Hong Kong’s broader effort to reinforce its role in innovation and technology. Tourism board chairman Peter Lam Kin-ngok called the partnership a demonstration of confidence in Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem.

Lam said the hosting arrangement builds on other recent technology and digital asset events in the city, including Consensus Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Web3 Festival. He also referenced activities involving HashKey Group and research organization Wanxiang Blockchain Labs earlier this year.

According to Lam, with LEAP East’s Hong Kong debut, the city has become a convergence point for multiple major global innovation and technology events, positioning Hong Kong as an international hub for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
