Tajikistan inaugurates new flour mill with 200-tonnes daily capacity
The mill, run by Iroda Invest LLC, is aimed at boosting domestic flour output that grew to 219,251 tonnes in Q1 2026, up 134% year on year.
Tajikistan commissioned a new flour mill in the Bobojon Ghafurov district of Sughd Province, with daily wheat processing capacity of 200 tonnes, according to World Grain.
The facility is operated by Iroda Invest LLC and includes a raw-material warehouse with capacity for 600 tonnes, plus a warehouse for storing finished products. The flour is mainly produced from durum wheat for use in products such as pasta, pizza dough, bread, and dumplings, with the project marked by President Emomali Rahmon, who attended the July 8 commissioning.
Tajikistan has been expanding its flour production, with national output reaching 219,251 tonnes in the first quarter of 2026, up 134% from the same period a year ago. The Tajikistan Agency of Statistics said the production increase helps reduce dependence on imported flour products and improves self-sufficiency.
During the same visit, Rahmon viewed an exhibition of industrial products made in Bobojon Ghafurov district, including flour, pasta, vegetable oil, poultry products, compound feed, and construction materials, the report added. World Grain also highlighted that grain storage and handling firms are increasingly focused on efficiency alongside capacity, citing supplier equipment projects.
