SEC may draft crypto rules ahead of Senate vote on the CLARITY Act
CryptoSlate reports the SEC’s rulemaking could proceed on separate NPRM tracks for issuers, broker dealers, and trading venues while the Senate vote is set for Aug. 7.
The SEC could begin writing crypto regulatory rules before the Senate votes on the CLARITY Act, according to CryptoSlate.
CryptoSlate says the agency’s rulemaking plan would separate issuers, broker dealers, and trading venues onto different NPRM tracks.
The Senate vote is scheduled for Aug. 7, according to the outlet’s account of the agenda and timing.
CryptoSlate frames the process as an effort to move elements of crypto market regulation ahead of final legislative action.
