US official says nuclear talks with Iran will continue

A U.S. official said the administration plans to keep working toward a resolution through technical talks aimed at preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

A U.S. official said talks with Iran on its nuclear program will continue despite recent tanker attacks in the Strait, which Washington views as terrorism.

The official said the existing memorandum of understanding remains performance-based, and that Iran's conduct has been below acceptable standards.

Still, the administration said it remains committed to pursuing a resolution through continued technical talks, with the stated goal of preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon.
