Ag Processing ships first-ever US unit train of soybean oil

The David City, Nebraska facility began commercial operations in 2025 and is designed to load unit trains of both soybean meal and soybean oil.

Ag Processing Inc. loaded and shipped what it said is the first-ever US unit train of soybean oil from its David City, Nebraska soybean processing and degumming facility, as biofuels demand continues to grow, according to World Grain. The company said the milestone, announced July 10, comes after the US Environmental Protection Agency finalized historic Renewable Fuel Standard biomass-based diesel volumes. AGP linked the move to the expansion of the renewable fuels industry and said the unit-train shipment is part of strengthening the supply chain for renewable fuels.

AGP said the David City plant began commercial operations in 2025 and is its 11th soybean processing plant. The facility includes more than 13 miles of rail and can efficiently load unit trains of both soybean meal and soybean oil.

AGP is a Nebraska-based agribusiness cooperative that processes soybeans and markets products including soybean meal, refined soybean oil, and biodiesel. The company also operates grain elevator operations and conducts agricultural product trading in domestic and international markets.
