Allianz tops AI talent and maturity ranking among large insurers
The Evident AI Index for Insurance assigns 45% of its overall score to the Talent pillar and finds Allianz has a larger AI professional pool than AXA, based on headcount.
One out of every 50 employees at a group of 30 large insurers is an AI specialist, according to an analysis summarized by Insurance Journal that benchmarks AI talent and maturity across major carriers.
The ranking, published as part of the Evident AI Index for Insurance, crowns Allianz as the AI maturity leader after combining scores across four pillars, with the index’s Talent dimension accounting for 45% of the overall calculation.
Insurance Journal says Allianz leapfrogged last year’s top-ranked insurer, AXA, to take the No. 1 spot overall, and also claimed the top two positions among composite insurers when ranking the Talent pillar alone.
The article further notes that Allianz has the largest AI talent pool in the industry, with Evident counting 28% more AI professionals in its workforce than AXA, and that 11 of the 30 insurers have a Chief AI Officer or equivalent role, with two thirds of those leaders appointed less than a year ago.
