African Risk Capacity names David Maslo permanent CEO
Maslo took over permanently after leading ARC through record premium earnings last year and launching sovereign flood coverage.
African Risk Capacity Limited, a development-focused parametric insurer, has appointed David Maslo as its permanent chief executive officer, replacing his interim role.
Reinsurance News reports the board appointed Maslo in June 2025 after he previously served as Chief Risk Management Officer at CCRIF SPC. During his interim tenure, ARC said it delivered its strongest annual financial performance since inception, with premium earnings reaching a record high last year.
Under Maslo’s leadership, ARC expanded its multi-peril offering to add sovereign flood insurance and launched its Re-Takaful facility, and the company said it will accelerate its transformation and deepen its role as a development partner.
The board chair said ARC aims to help close Africa’s protection gap and scale innovative risk-financing solutions to strengthen resilience to climate-related, health and other catastrophic risks, while Maslo said he will work with partners to help governments anticipate, finance and respond to disasters before they escalate into humanitarian crises.
