Canadian Copper files EIA for Murray Brook copper project in New Brunswick
The environmental review is open for public and Indigenous input before a technical committee and a decision by New Brunswick.
Canadian Copper submitted its Environmental Impact Assessment registration document for the Murray Brook deposit to New Brunswick’s department of environment and local government, with the company saying the filing will be posted for public review and comment.
The process invites feedback from Indigenous communities, stakeholders and the general public, alongside a technical review committee assembled by the provincial government.
Canadian Copper said the Murray Brook project is its flagship site in the Bathurst mining camp, where pre development stripping is already complete and the company has a more than decade projected mine life based on its 2013 preliminary economic assessment.
The company also plans to host a Bathurst event on July 29, 2026 to discuss the project, while Chief Terry Richardson of Pabineau First Nation said the EIA work is expected to support economic development and regional growth.
