Hong Kong adds safety signage after multiple crashes on new overpass
Authorities said the overpass opened Sunday and the early crash cluster left one person injured across three Tuesday incidents.
Hong Kong transport authorities have added additional safety signage on Tsuen Wan Road after five traffic accidents were recorded within the first three days of a new overpass opening, South China Morning Post reported.
The single-lane bridge opened on Sunday and connects the Kowloon-bound fast lane of Tsuen Wan Road near the Kwai Tsing Interchange up-ramp to Kwai Chung Road, according to police, as cited by SCMP.
Three of the incidents occurred within 15 minutes on Tuesday morning along Tsuen Wan Road, involving eight vehicles in total. Police said the first crash at 8:24am involved two private cars with no injuries.
A second collision at 8:27am involved three private cars and a taxi, and a third accident at 8:39am involved two private cars, injuring a driver, SCMP reported.
