Symaga upgrades feed silo steel to higher-strength S450GD
The change boosts silo structural strength, with models up to 86 cubic meters, starting in August.
Symaga says it has upgraded its feed silo line with a higher-strength structural steel and larger silo sizes to improve mechanical performance and structural strength.
Starting in August, the company will replace S350GD structural steel with S450GD in its feed silos. During the transition period, both steel types may be used to help maintain continuity of supply, it said.
Symaga said S450GD increases yield strength from 350 N/mm² to 450 N/mm², which it expects will enable silos with improved structural strength. It also linked the move to better raw material availability and simplified procurement management.
The new feed silo range includes models with 3.80 meters in diameter and capacity up to 86 cubic meters. World Grain noted that grain storage and handling companies are increasingly focused on efficiency and smarter systems, while citing related equipment projects.
