Sidley appoints Carl Hotton to lead M&A and private equity work in London
The new London hire brings experience advising insurers and reinsurers on cross-border deals, reinsurance transactions, and insurance portfolio transfers.
Sidley, an international law firm that advises insurers and financial institutions, has appointed Carl Hotton as a partner to its M&A and private equity practice in London.
Hotton most recently worked at DLA Piper as a partner in the corporate group, where he focused on insurance M&A and reinsurance transactions, according to the firm.
Sidley said Hotton will support clients on domestic and cross-border M&A, insurance portfolio transfers, reinsurance transactions, strategic investments and joint ventures, group reorganizations, and related insurance regulatory matters.
The firm added that the move follows the relocation of Sean Carney to London earlier this year, and it positioned Hotton as an addition to its growing London insurance practice for cross-border work across the U.S. and London.
