Howden to acquire Thomond Asset Management in Ireland

The deal adds Thomond’s nine-person financial advisory team to Howden, pending CBI regulatory approval.

Howden, a global insurance and reinsurance broking group, said it will acquire Thomond Asset Management, the trading name of Folk Asset Management Limited, a financial advisory business headquartered in Limerick, Ireland.

Thomond Asset Management advises individuals and business owners on financial planning, pensions before and after retirement, investments, and estate planning. The company’s nine-member team is expected to join Howden after the acquisition receives Irish Central Bank, or CBI, regulatory approval.

Howden said the move is intended to expand its financial advisory footprint in Ireland, including support for financial planning and insurance needs closer to clients. The firm added that the acquisition will broaden the range of services available to Thomond’s clients while maintaining personal service.

The announcement comes as part of Howden’s recent buildout of financial advisory capabilities in Ireland, following additions of Maven Financial Planning in April 2026 and Opes Wealth Trust in May 2026. Howden said the Limerick team will add to an existing operation launched last year and led by Dermot Gaskin, which now includes over 80 professionals.
