Smurfit Westrock and Coca-Cola China launch World Cup paper packaging
The new range includes an eight-can gift pack with space for a World Cup-themed collectible and formats for supermarkets, e-commerce, and convenience retail channels.
Coca-Cola is teaming up with Smurfit Westrock and The Coca-Cola Company China to roll out paper-based packaging solutions for Coca-Cola's 2026 World Cup campaign, according to Yahoo Finance. The packaging portfolio was developed with input from Coca-Cola's channel team and is intended to boost consumer engagement while matching the needs of modern retail channels. The lineup includes an eight-can gift pack that offers space for a World Cup-themed collectible, along with additional formats designed for supermarkets, e-commerce platforms, and convenience stores. Yahoo Finance also notes that Coca-Cola recently broadened its brand presence in fashion and lifestyle through a June 8 collaboration with Carre, Culture Kings' private-label streetwear brand. That football-inspired collection includes items such as jerseys, graphic T-shirts, caps, and track sets.
