Emory Healthcare to more than double space at Northlake Mall
The nonprofit Centurian Foundation paid $95 million for Northlake Mall, and up to $225 million in bonds could be issued for acquisition and redevelopment costs.
Emory Healthcare is expanding its footprint at Northlake Mall, where it has leased about 274,000 square feet since 2019. The new lease is expected to more than double Emory’s occupancy, according to ConnectCRE.
The mall, which opened in 1971, is mostly vacant beyond Emory Healthcare. ConnectCRE said the added medical presence comes after an ownership change for the property.
ConnectCRE reported that The Centurian Foundation, a nonprofit, paid $95 million for Northlake Mall. Because the buyer is a nonprofit, up to $225 million in bonds could be issued to help finance costs tied to the acquisition, demolition, construction, expansion, renovation, repair, build-out, and equipping of facilities at the mall site.
Emory Healthcare already uses the site for administrative and clinical operations, and the location has expanded in recent years with a primary care center opened in 2025, and a child care center in partnership with Primrose School opened in 2024, ConnectCRE added.
