Munich Re appoints Sabine Starbatty as CUO for Agriculture
The role takes effect May 1, 2026, and North America responsibilities shift from Lambert Muhr, who will retire at the end of September.
Munich Re has appointed Sabine Starbatty as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Agriculture for the Americas and Europe, effective May 1, 2026, according to Reinsurance News.
The reinsurer said Starbatty will assume responsibilities in North America that are currently held by Lambert Muhr, who is set to retire at the end of September after several years developing Munich Re’s agricultural portfolio.
Starbatty brings 25 years of industry experience, and Munich Re noted her background spans underwriting roles since joining the company in 2001, including leadership as Head of Non-Life for the Middle East and North Africa and Cyber for multiple regions including Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, and Africa.
