Enfinity and Strioga partner on 150MW BESS project in Italy

The four-hour, 600MWh battery project in Livorno, Tuscany will have 49.9% equity held by the Strioga Family Foundation and a 50.1% controlling stake kept by Enfinity Global.

Enfinity Global and E Energy Invest, the investment arm of the Strioga Family Foundation, have signed a co-investment partnership to develop a 150MW battery energy storage system in Livorno, Tuscany, Italy, Power Technology reports. The project is designed with a four-hour storage duration and a total storage capacity of 600MWh.

Under the deal terms, the Strioga Family Foundation will acquire a 49.9% equity interest in a fully authorized BESS, while Enfinity Global will hold a 50.1% controlling stake. Enfinity Global will remain responsible for completing the project’s remaining development and construction activities.

The facility is part of Enfinity Global’s 6.7GW battery energy storage portfolio in Italy. The companies said the integrated solar and storage platform in Italy aims to strengthen grid flexibility and support greater renewable energy integration.

Power Technology also notes that Enfinity Global’s Italian platform includes more than 1GW of signed power purchase agreements, energy contracts under the Energy Release 2.0 programme, and capacity secured in FER X auctions. Enfinity Global was advised by Advant NCTM, while the Strioga Family Foundation received advice from Green Horse and Natural Power.
