ACORD appoints four new board members, with Chubb executive as chair

Spero Zacharias, a Chubb senior vice president, will chair the board and oversees cyber security programs supporting operations across 54 countries.

ACORD, the global standards-setting organization for the insurance sector, has appointed four new members to its Board of Directors: Kasey Connors, Nidhi Howell, Christina Lucas, and Spero Zacharias.

Zacharias, a Senior Vice President of Global Information Technology Major Initiatives at Chubb, will serve as board chair. According to ACORD, he directs a portfolio of cyber security programs supporting operations across 54 countries and across all commercial and consumer lines, including pet and crop insurance, life, and general insurance.

ACORD said Zacharias chairs roles reflect more than three decades of experience in insurance technology and cyber security, including prior volunteer service on the ACORD board, such as chairing it from 2017 to 2019 and serving as vice chair.

The standards group also highlighted the new members’ technology and industry expertise across roles at Chubb, Big “I” Agents Council for Technology, Lockton Re, and Google Cloud, linking the appointments to ACORD’s focus on advancing standardized data exchange and industry connectivity.
