Aon boosts data center insurance capacity for lifecycle program to $5B

The Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program, launched in July 2025, now includes $1.5 billion in additional first party capacity on top of prior increases to $3.5 billion.

Aon plc is expanding its proprietary Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program, adding $1.5 billion and lifting first party coverage capacity to $5.0 billion, according to an Insurance Journal report.

The program is designed to cover construction, operational, cyber and financial risks facing data center owners, developers and investors, and it builds on earlier enhancements that increased capacity to $3.5 billion.

Alongside the added insurance capacity, Aon is offering integrated risk services for digital infrastructure assets across their lifecycle, including climate risk advisory, security risk consulting, environmental risk solutions and operational resilience expertise.

Insurance Journal reports that Aon launched the DCLP in July 2025, and the latest expansion comes as investment in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and hyperscale data centers accelerates, driving demand for coverage that can support larger and more capital intensive projects.
