Pladis launches Back to Farm program to grow wheat sustainably

The plan seeks to source 50% of wheat used in its UK products through the program by the end of 2030, with 50 growers supplying verified practice data.

Pladis Global, a UK biscuit, chocolate, and confection maker, has launched Back to Farm, a program aimed at helping UK wheat growers adopt regenerative agriculture practices on their land.

Under the initiative, Pladis will bring together farmers, agronomists, and supply chain partners to support responsible sourcing and strengthen long-term resilience in its food production supply chain.

Fifty wheat growers will provide data on their farming practices, which will be reviewed and verified with agricultural partners including YAGRO, Downforce Technologies, and the Cool Farm Tool. Pladis said it will use recognized tools and methodologies to credibly measure results.

Pladis also said it is working toward having 50% of all wheat used in its UK-based products grown through Back to Farm by the end of 2030. The company, founded in 2016 and owned by Yildiz Holding, operates 27 bakeries and plants in 11 countries and employs more than 16,000 people.
