Strategy adds $225M to USD reserve via MSTR stock sale
Strategy sold 2,732,318 MSTR shares for $263.5 million in net proceeds during July 13 to July 19, lifting its USD reserve to $3.225 billion without reducing its BTC holdings.
Strategy increased its USD reserve by $225 million for the second straight week by selling MicroStrategy (MSTR) shares instead of selling Bitcoin from its treasury, according to Decrypt. The company sold 2,732,318 MSTR shares for $263.5 million in net proceeds between July 13 and July 19, using an at-the-market equity program that allows gradual share sales into the open market rather than a traditional underwriting deal. That cash is allocated to what Strategy calls its USD Reserve, a dedicated dollar fund used to pay dividends and cover debt obligations. As of July 19, the USD reserve stood at $3.225 billion, after Strategy also added $466.7 million the prior week through common stock issuance. Strategy said it still holds its full Bitcoin stack of 843,775 BTC, roughly 4% of Bitcoin's fixed 21 million-coin supply, and its preferred shareholders receive dividend payments before common stockholders.
