Abu Dhabi approves $6.2 billion gas project for Umm Shaif expansion

The project will be developed with TotalEnergies, Eni and CNPC to expand natural gas production and liquefied natural gas exports, according to coverage of the decision.

Abu Dhabi has approved a $6.2 billion gas project aimed at expanding the UAE’s natural gas supply, with the work focused on the Umm Shaif Gas Cap, according to CNBC Markets and CNBC World.

The investment is tied to Abu Dhabi’s National Oil Company, which will use the project to increase natural gas production and grow liquefied natural gas exports.

OilPrice reported that the final investment decision supports ADNOC’s strategy to expand its global gas portfolio, with development carried out alongside international partners including TotalEnergies, Eni and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
