Bitcoin tops $66,400 as Clarity Act optimism lifts crypto sentiment
CoinDesk reports bitcoin’s rise pushed the asset to a five-week high above $66,400 and helped lift major crypto-linked stocks, with Coinbase and Circle each up about 9% early Monday.
Bitcoin climbed to about $66,400, its first level above that mark in roughly five weeks, extending a near 3% gain over the prior 24 hours, according to CoinDesk.
The move came as optimism about the proposed U.S. Clarity Act increased after a report that President Trump had agreed to a key ethics provision that had previously stalled the bill, with odds of passage described as rising to nearly 50%.
CoinDesk also said crypto-related equities were broadly higher at the open, led by Coinbase and Circle, each up about 9%, along with other gainers including Bullish (up 5.5%), Gemini (up 5.3%), and Galaxy Digital (up 4.8%).
