Boeing and Airbus are preparing their next narrow-body jets

CNBC World notes that airlines and investors are not rushing to place new orders, preferring to focus on production, deliveries, and current aircraft.

Boeing and Airbus are moving toward their next generation of narrow-body aircraft, setting up what could be a new competitive round in the single-aisle market, according to CNBC World.

Even as the manufacturers prepare, airlines and investors are still centered on near-term operational priorities rather than new jet demand, the outlet said.

The focus is on production and delivery timelines, as well as how current fleets are performing and being utilized.

CNBC World added that this means the next narrow-body contest is being shaped more by execution and deliveries in the near term than by immediate customer push for new aircraft.
