Google expands real estate listings pilot nationwide with HouseCanary
The listings ads rely on MLS-by-MLS deals, with CRMLS, San Diego MLS, and MyState MLS already live, and REcolorado expected next.
HousingWire reports that Google has expanded its real estate listings pilot nationwide, using HouseCanary to provide listing data and power ads in Google search results.
HouseCanary is building coverage through negotiated agreements between MLSs, with CRMLS, San Diego MLS, and MyState MLS already live, and REcolorado expected to be next.
The partnership is positioned as evolving from an earlier effort to help Google improve real estate search experiences beyond local agent profiles and reviews, focusing instead on user intent around searching for homes for sale in specific geographic areas.
HousingWire also notes that HouseCanary said its initial access to listing feeds came via IDX and VOW arrangements with roughly 300 MLSs, but there was early uncertainty over whether the Google partnership fit within existing IDX terms.
