Agents use AI tools to automate MLS workflows, often against bylaws

HousingWire cites security software from Solid Earth that is thwarting up to 1,200 AI bot attempts per day, up sharply from fewer than 10 six months ago.

HousingWire reports that real estate agents increasingly use AI tools to automate workflows inside MLS systems, including tasks such as CMA generation and buyer search.

The outlet says industry sources point to a rise in bot attempts, limited MLS policies governing AI use, and concerns involving credentials, governance, and data reuse.

HousingWire also cites Solid Earth CEO Eric Steggman, who said the company is currently blocking as many as 1,200 AI attempts per day, adding that the count has surged from under 10 six months earlier.

The story notes that few MLSs allow AI access or have formal rules for it, while agents and coaches have shared tutorials online that describe how to integrate AI to access listing data, under varying degrees of legality.
