Norway crude output rises in June, beating official forecasts
Preliminary figures from Norway's Offshore Directorate put June crude average at 1.827 million bpd, up from 1.677 million bpd a year earlier, as fields returned from seasonal maintenance.
Norway's crude oil production beat official forecasts in June, with output averaging 1.827 million barrels per day, according to preliminary figures released Tuesday by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (SODIR). The increase reflected the return of offshore fields from seasonal maintenance and continued operational performance on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Compared with the same month last year, June crude production rose from 1.677 million bpd, underscoring Norway's role as a steady oil supplier for Europe. The report also said natural gas production recovered after seasonal maintenance.
When including natural gas liquids (NGL) and condensate, Norway's total liquids production reached 2.022 million bpd, up from 1.909 million bpd in May, a month-on-month increase of about 113,000 bpd.
Gas sales totaled 10.0 billion standard cubic meters in June, up from 9.4 billion Sm³ in May, as exports continued to support Europe's energy security following a sharp decline in Russian pipeline gas deliveries, OilPrice reported.
