Topical therapies gain ground in workers’ compensation pain care

The program, led by MyMatrixx experts by Evernorth, says opioid use is continuing to decline, helping drive more patients toward topical options. It will also address physician dispensing concerns and outline strategies to identify high-cost outliers and implement controls designed to improve clinical outcomes and financial performance.
The event material also notes a case study involving FedEx and Enlyte, describing a merger of seven separate workers’ compensation systems and an innovative nurse triage line. It cites results including 79% utilization and a reduction in indemnity claims from 57% to 33%.
