Global oil prices top $95 a barrel amid renewed Iran tensions

Prices rose to a six-week high after U.S. strikes extended for an 11th straight night and additional warnings escalated risks around the Strait of Hormuz.

Global oil prices climbed above $95 a barrel for the first time in six weeks as hopes for de-escalation of the Iran conflict faded, according to MarketWatch.

MarketWatch reported that prices rose Wednesday morning after the U.S. struck Iran for an 11th night in a row.

The outlet also cited President Trump warning that the U.S. would bomb Iran’s bridges and power plants if Tehran shoots at ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
