HTX rotates hot wallets across chains after UK sanctions

TRM Labs says a UK designation on May 26 left compliance screening based on HTX addresses largely obsolete within hours as the exchange cycled deposit and funding wallets across TRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Solana.

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs says crypto exchange HTX has continued operating under the same brand after the UK sanctioned its parent entity, Huobi Global S.A., and rebuilt its on-chain wallet infrastructure.

According to TRM Labs, HTX rotated both deposit and hot wallets on a rapid cycle across TRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Solana, retiring each hot wallet and funding address within hours.

TRM Labs said the effect is that address based block lists can go stale quickly, leaving screening dependent on tracking wallet behavior rather than static addresses, because activity shifts before a traditional list captures it.

In the UK sanctions package, authorities targeted crypto exchanges and the A7 network, and flagged HTX as a major global exchange suspected of having channeled more than $1.5 billion to the Kremlin, while HTX told Decrypt that the activity reflects routine, security driven platform operations.
