Hudson Insurance CEO retires after 24 years as Odyssey chief takes over

Odyssey Group CEO Carl Overy will add Hudson president and CEO duties effective October 1, making him the operating head of two underwriting franchises at once.

Hudson Insurance Group president and chief executive Chris Gallagher will retire after 24 years with the company, Odyssey Group Holdings said.

Odyssey CEO Carl Overy will step into the Hudson role effective October 1, adding it to his existing group responsibilities and making him the operating head of two of Odyssey Group's three underwriting franchises simultaneously.

Odyssey and Hudson also named internal successors as part of the leadership transition. Trevor Howard will become chief underwriting officer, while Andre Virgilio will take the role of chief operating officer for Hudson Crop & Livestock.

Howard joined Hudson in 2018 from Liberty Mutual, where he led management and professional liability underwriting, and he currently oversees HudsonPro. Virgilio, who joined in 2012 and has led the livestock team for the past two years, will expand his responsibilities after more than two decades in crop insurance experience.
